Old City Hall Station opened up on October 27th, 1904, it was New York City's 1st subway station of the 20th century. This was the southern terminal of the original IRT (Interborough Rapid Transit) which ran from City Hall to Grand Central Terminal ran across 42nd Street towards Times Square (which is todays 42nd Street Shuttle) and north of Broadway to 145th Street. This station has a single track loop 600ft from the Brooklyn Bridge station. Old City Hall Station is a 400 foot long platform on the curve loop. On December 31st, 1945 City Hall Station was closed to the public since Brooklyn Bridge station platform was extended to accommodate the new standard 10-car trains!
Another Bronx bound 6 local train passing through the Old City Hall Station on the curve loop heading towards Brooklyn Bridge Uptown and The Bronx platform. The train briefly made a stop b/c a Transit worker chatted with the T/O (Train Operator)!
Music to my ears hearing those cars go around that curve!!!!! I can't wait till they have fan trips this summer to the Rockaways or to Coney Island. Hey Will they ever take out the train of many colors again ?

If you want to see it from inside the train, get on a downtown 6, and look out the window after the train leaves Brooklyn Bridge. It'll turn around on the City Hall loop and come back into Brooklyn Bridge station as an uptown 6. Then make your escape.
