Outside Argentina and Uruguay, most audiences knowledge of tango is restricted to particular styles of dance and/or the music of specific orchestras. But the true soul of tango lays in the so-called tango-canción and its connection to music, dance, poetry, and daily life.

Usually only one element of tango is represented in the main festivals, typically dance or music. The Zero Hour Tango Fest will present the four main components of the genre (music, poetry, singing, and dance) represented and interwoven in a series of inclusive talks, workshops, dance events, and multimedia concerts.
