Mangobrain82 you must have not read the comments b4 the ford gt has nothing to do with the mustang.. Why is it so hard to explain that. See that's how arguments start someone reads a comment down a bit and they know everything. It's funny the old 302 was a 300ci and the new one is 302. What a engine it is...

It doesn't matter, the 302 or in this case 5.0 is a 5.0 don't get mad cause it's once again the smallest v8 and yet better built again to compete with all engines. The new gt 500 has a 5.8 and it's already gonna be a vette killer. The 5.4 Ford Gt has already creamed everything GM has put out no matter the cu inches anymore cause it's not about size, it's about capabilities. Those days of cubic inches means a more potent engine are over.

Wtf are you even taking about? Gt engine? Last time I checked the 5.0 coyote wasnt called a gt. the gt is a name of a car and a package. Ford gt had a 5.4 DOHC the 5.0 coyote are different. Now onto specs. Dude modular engines have been climbing the scales as one of the most reliable engines ever built. The old 5.0 was and still is one of the hardest engines to kill. Guys take them Racing with 180-200k on engine. Beat that with an ls1-2-3

If GT stroke is longer and rods are shorter then it does NOT have the same crank to stroke ratio, freaking ford retards. they don't even understand when you explain it, it is so simple, even a 5 years old can understand a higher number is longer on a ruler

Son, you are dense, arent you? You have absolutely no clue about engine architecture and block internal dimensional constraints. You completely made up all your "facts" with no real numbers to back them up.

The DOHC 5.0L has almost exactly the same rod length, stroke, & therefore ratio as the LS3.

And to accommodate that stroke, the DOHC 5.0 has almost exactly the same internal transverse block dimensions for the crank too.

Sorry that the facts upset you, but there it is. :)
