  • "There's not point in making a decision"

That's completely wrong as demonstrated by Newcomb's paradox. Even in a universe where the future already exists and we cannot change it we're still able to make choices. It's confusing, but the best way to look at it is 'You already made the choice'.

  • @waperboy there is freewill. That logic you speak of is in comparison to throwing the baby out with the bath water. There is infinite options and events being played out, you get to choose which path you take. They all exist, you get to choose the road.

    peace peace

  • u have memory of past and no memory of future . so if we can sent our memory back in time that mean we have traveled back in time

  • @Fatimus or call it fate right

  • so because they cant accept ther relatives are dead, they gotta come up a theory to make themselves believe they still exist? >.>

  • Relativity theory is only incompatible with the notion free will if you presuppose that free will is incompatible with determinism. This is quite a big assumption.

  • @Fatimus that's what he meant brah

  • quantum mechanic does not saves the free will, it destroys it as much as determinism. Free will supposes the concept of choice and in quantum mechanic things happen by accident (random and unintentionally). It is not free will if I am not in control of my actions, if I am not able to decide what to do. After all the free will is not scientific but metaphysical problem.

  • It is a shame that you do not seem to need to understand the physics, to be a physicist. No freewill, :p what a joke!

  • Did I make my decision???

  • @Fatimus now we just have to understand WHY we made the choice ;) (Matrix anyone?)

  • 3:14 I would rather not get into such broad debate but I feel like I should at least voice an opinion. when said, "if you take this block of four dimensional spacetime literally, it means you have to abandon free will" I disagree. I believe that whether or not the future is predetermined, our ability to manipulate future is still non-zero because to us, the future is still probability. I base this off the MW interpretation of QM, all possibilities exist. it is still free will AND destiny.
