I think Eva Cassidy's cover (in my opinion) does more justice to Curtis Mayfield.

Yeah, it's terrible...Bono's only credit is that he knows a good song when he runs across it...he just can't perform it.

Bono has done some great songs, but he has an appalling tendency to be pompous and self-righteous. This version of People Get Ready lacks all the soul and intensity of Curtis Mayfield's great song. Talk about a massacre of a classic.  Bono sometimes sucks out loud.

It's not Curtis, but it has it's own kind of simplicity, that is very neat.. only matters how you look at it..
