When Michael Eisner was in charge, everything went in to WDW and Disneyland was the red-headed stepchild. Now in his absence, Disneyland seems to have a bigger budget to work with and more things are improving there. Give us Californians a chance to gloat a little bit....
Is anyone not giving you the chance to be proud of this? I said, "both parks have their strengths and weaknesses." Which is true. If you take that as offensive, that's kind of ridiculous. DL has a better Fantasmic. WDW has a better ToT. DL has a better Pirates. WDW has a better Splash. Both parks have their strengths and weaknesses. I'm always amazed at what people will find offensive. Sheesh.
As of about 4 years ago, DL's HM was head and shoulders above WDW. This was mainly because WDW had neglected to update the ride's basic mechanics. However, a few years back, they updated the ride to include DL's updates (the bride with the ax, etc.) along with an Escher-esque room with winding steps where you can see ghostly footprints walking. It's exceptionally sweet and has now put WDW's HM ahead of DL's. DL's suffers from lack of theming around its loading queue.
That being said, DL's house has a gorgeous exterior. It's just a little cramped due to DL's size. WDW also doesn't get the Haunted Holiday overlay. For the basic ride, I'd say WDW wins for now, but only because of the current updates. If it's true that they're going to put the hatbox ghost into DL, I assume they'll be neck and neck.
Disneyland's other edge is that they use full-sized ships (the Mark Twain and the Columbia). WDW uses ships (only about half the size of the DL ships) that were made for their version of Fantasmic.
I like the new upgraded dragon. It is much better than the frame and fabric dragon in the previous version. What is most impressive though is that the new dragon shoots fire some 20+ feet away now as opposed to the 10 feet as before. Now the flames can actually hit the water thus improving the illusion of the water actually catching on fire.
"To tell you the truth I'm not a big fan of Murphy. Don't get me wrong we do need change and this is great but, Murphy just seems like another animatronic to me, because I see a lot now a days."
Not sure what you mean by "see a lot now a days", do you work for Disneyland or with animatronics? Nonetheless, you have to consider that the dragon is one of the biggest animatronic they have ever had, so it's not just like another animatronic in terms of size and what it can do.
