@1jammot So in your opinion does allowing an automatic watch to stop frequently hurt the movement? I just ordered my first automatic watch but I don't plan on wearing the watch every day. I'll probably wear it 2-3 times a week, should I think about investing in one of these things?

@roxtar10870 Watch snobs have cultivated so many myths... Try the Amazon watch community discussion board to see many myths exploded by real, normal people who have no time for bull. I don't post there myself, don't worry!

@roxtar10870 thanks :)

@ShockSta123 It winds your automatic watches for you while your not wearing them. I could be mistaken, but allowing an automatic watch to stop frequently is bad for the movement. If that's not the case I'm sure that someone that knows more about watches will correct me.

wat does a watch winder do exactly /??????

Sparta is a stupid name for such an expensive item. The Lacedaemonians were all about frugality, hence the modern meaning of Spartan. If you are incapable of making a watch winder then you cannot call yourself a man.

@Whahli You are not a watch collector until you own an IWC or a Patek Phillipe
-
It looks unnecessarily expensively made, just to wind a watch !

@ll345ll The watch winder stays on...
can you leave a watch winder on for as long as you want until you use your watch again? does it turn off by itself when the watch is winded?

@russiapower345 It does not turn off when the watch is winded unless its one of the more powerful programmable watch winders. It will try and simulate the wrist action and have a similar effect of you wearing your watch 24/7
