A strong snowsquall originating from Georgian Bay remained stationary over much of South Central Ontario effecting the communities of Innisfill, Cookstown and Newmarket where 30 centimeters of snow fell. The winds which were also gusting up to 70 km/h created blowing and drifting snow near the edges of the squall.
Not shown in the video is the fact that this squall persisted for nearly 72 hours and effected a great deal of Simcoe County and York Region where communities such as Kettleby reported nearly 60 centimeters of snow. The squall also dropped several centimeters of snow across metro Toronto, which while not unusual still serves as a testament to the strength of the squall.
