I met Jon Waters when the Pecker DVD was released, and he was doing a signing in Midtown, NYC, at Coconuts, I think...?. He told me that it was that song that actually inspired the movie and he'd always loved it. At the time, I'd been corresponding with Paul, and Jon signed a picture to Paul thanking him for the song (They'd never met). I sent it to Paul.

I believe it was taken in 2000. I know I was there. He was appearing with a bunch of other Oldies acts. During intermission, I had gotten to speak with Al Byron who was also there. He co-wrote "Roses Are Red" with Paul. Paul performed the song as it was written.

I loved this song since I heard it in the early sixties on my 45 record player, the flip side is wonderful too

It's not "from" Pecker. It was in both Pecker and Scrubs, however it was written back in the 1950's/60's era.

@crunterstamps
I remember the Formby version very well. It was always fun to have my songs "covered".
