How to Make Your Own Envelopes - A Craft Tutorial

This is a very simple project, but by learning the basic technique, you can get creative and make one-of-a-kind envelopes for special occasions and gifts! Try using different papers, like handmade paper. You could even try making different shapes! Just keep in mind, though, the limits of the US postal service.

A little fact: This is the first video tutorial I filmed outside! I filmed it in the evening when I storm was approaching (lol!), so that is why I think there is a blueish tint to the video (that and the combination of the blue paper). :)

» Materials List «

• 8.5"x11" sheet of paper (any color)
• A small card-sized envelope*
• Glue stick
• Scissors
• A pencil

*You can also find envelope templates online and print them off!

» Instructions «

• Undo the seams of your envelope. You can either use your fingers or a letter opener.
• Lay your envelope template on your sheet of paper and trace around it.
• Cut out your envelope.
• Fold your envelope the way your original envelope was folded.
• Apply a line of glue the bottom side of the side flaps and both sides of the bottom flap. Fold your envelope and smooth out the seams with your fingers.
