they didn't shove Guy back into the closet because it is a comic television show, with little to no regard (as the writers see fit) for continuity/logic, if it does not serve to further the plot or add comic value. maintaining an airtight script with no plot holes is difficult over a show with hundreds of episodes, rather than a two hour movie, where plotholes cannot be accepted.
