Chef Pierre Thiam on CNN Inside Africa

Senegalese-born Pierre Thiam is the Chef and owner of the Brooklyn based Le Grand Dakar Restaurant in New York City. He is also the author of the cookbook "Yolele! Recipes from the Heart of Senegal" The cookbook received the Jury Award at the Paris Gourmand World Cookbook Awards earlier this year. Pierre has made numerous U.S. media appearances including Iron Chef, Good Morning America and The Martha Stewart Show.

On Saturday September 25, 2010, Pierre was featured on CNN International's "Inside Africa." Inside Africa is a weekly, half-hour, feature program that gives global viewers an insight into the diverse cultural trends and personalities that help define Africa beyond the traditional headlines.

In this segment, Pierre talked about delightful African cuisine, his restaurant and his heritage whereby he said "At Le Grand Dakar you are not only eating food but you are also feeding you mind and feeding your soul connecting to the continent in many aspects"
