Well, it's been a pretty cold and blustery February so far, which brought to mind this great song by Jethro Tull from their brilliant album, "The Minstrel in the Gallery".
In order to give this the proper energy it deserves, I fueled up on a cup of Lava Java from Planet Bean, my neighbourhood coffee shop; I think it's almost as fast as Ian played it!!!
And yes, I thought it was about time I made a green video! ;o)

Woohoo! This video received honors on Youtube for #7 highest rated and commented in Music Canada on the day it aired! Thanks for your support Canadian friends! :)

Every Tull cover I do is dedicated to my dear brother, Tim Welsman! :)
Thanks for turning me on to the TULL, TIM!

In time there will be more Tull on my channel; I'm a fan!!!
peace & love,
Amy xo

  • @broadswordbeast awesome, keep the flame of Tull alive! :)

    Amy M

  • @amccann7 I just listened to that. It's great! By the way, you should check out the cover of "cold wind to valhalla" done by kalaghoda. That's my dad!

  • @broadswordbeast still, one of my favorite songs by Ian Anderson & Tull is called "Rocks on the Road" and is from the eighties era.

    ;)

  • @amccann7 I forgot to mention this - I think that you should do a cover of the song "We Used to Know". Based on your other covers, I feel that you would do an outstanding job of this.

  • @amccann7 I completely agree. Although everything by Tull is good, their earlier stuff where Ian wrote more blues and folk rock rather than their period of electronic rock. All the albums that you mentioned are true Tull classics. They are simply.. masterful.

  • @broadswordbeast Love that illustration! But to me my favorite period of Ian Anderson's work is when he was out to prove himself as a serious competitor; the earlier albums; STAND UP, BENEFIT, HEAVY HORSES, SONGS FROM THE WOOD, MINSTREL IN THE GALLERY, LIVING IN THE PAST,STORMWATCH....these are my great and never boring classics, that express to me the true LION energy!!!

  • @amccann7 agreed. Tull has to be the only band that doesn't have any songs I don't like. My YouTube name (broadswordbeast) is actually a reference to the Tull album "Broadsword & the Beast". Not the best Tull music on that album, but definitely the best cover artwork.

  • @amccann7 can't believe I didn't mention Cup of Wonder!!!

  • @broadswordbeast Thank you so much! It has always been a favorite of mine from the Tull catalogue. Ah, but there are many favorites aren't there Broadswordbeast? ;)

(Requiem, Reasons For Waiting, Teacher, Witches' Promise, Life's a Long Song...the list goes on and on...)

  • This has to be the best cover of "Cold Wind to Valhalla" on YouTube.
