Offshore drilling will change the mindset of the investors driving the oil prices up. No longer will oil seem like a resource that is quickly being used up. When the idea that new supply is coming enters the markets, investors will not see oil as having as much value and will not buy for these high prices. Why don't we drill and develop alternative fuels? Also windfall profit tax is the worst of all ideas. That tax would drive the oil companies to raise their prices to deal with the tax.

McCain has no viable plans at ALL concerning gas prices in the short term.
Gas tax holiday? Save a few cents at the expense of 300000 highway construction jobs - that's right, we know you republicans don't care about JOBS!
Off-shore drilling? Yeah, that might bring down the price of gas - in 5 to 10 years - from $11 a gallon to $10.50.
When everyone else is saying we need to get away from oil dependency, McCain is all for one that further enables our reliance on it.
Repubs = GONE in Nov!

My question is...if Republicans are so strong ans so capable of grassroots efforts, then why are they settling for a liberal to use their good name and position as their nominee? Why do they not think better of themselves? That they deserve better than that. It seems pretty spineless.

why should oil companies be forced to pursue alternative energy sources? There are plenty of other companies out there doing that. Get rid of oil company subsidies and give them to these alternative energy companies. duh

When the hell are we going to start drilling off our coasts in the U.S.??? They just found huge reserves of oil in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Brazil. Brazil will no longer be dependant on Foreign Oil once they start pumping this oil. When are we going to wise up in the U.S.??? Also, they are going to force people in Britain to use a carbon credit card in order gas up in Britain, also to heat their homes. Google: Daily Mail online for the story. How about windfall profit tax on the government? They make 15% profit while the oil companies make 4%. Where's the outrage?

McCain is no conservative. He ain't even a George Bush. Still he is better than President Obama or President Hillary Clinton. He is the lesser evil, or to be exact the lesser liberal.
