  • Well I loved the stage automation {now I can put a name to it} was executed extremely well. If this forum allows me the opportunity to thank those responsible, then to you I applaud and bow. Well done. Thank you for enhancing my "Billy Elliot" experience. I just wish I could get a copy of the Capitol Theatre to enjoy over and over.

    God Bless you & yours.

  • Thank you for kind comments

  • This seems to malfunction quite a bit during the show. Is this an operator error or is it a problem with the equipment?

  • Neither, it is more usually one of the cast members being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Occaisonally the operator will mis-cue but that's quite rare and the automation has never broken down.

  • are u like the stage manager or someeth

    ink?

  • No, I designed and built the stage automation equipment for Billy Elliot. The video is intended to show off the automation rather than the show itself. I've noticed that this clip gets quite a few hits and I'm sure that there not all interested in automation!

  • I can't see on broadway but i am so excited about the tour! Problem is i don't think they can dig a 50 foot hole underneath each theater it visits so i'd like to see what they will do if they downsize it

  • hiya! =]

does the theatre do tours????? LOL

  • What I loved about the show is that all the automation is kept to a complete minimum! The set is simple... yet very complex! It reflects the characters and the time. The corkscrew unit really beats a truck moving on and upsetting the basic setting which gives us so much continuity and almost shows how routine the lives of the miners are / were. I've seen a lof of shows and there is so much crap as they have a huge budget... this all worked and beautifully!!!! CONGRATS!!!

  • kool, did you design lord of the rings? cuz their set is amazing im going to see it again sue to the amazin set, costumes, songs and the georgous portrayal of the story.
