Devin improved quite a bit during his time training here. In this video, you see him doing jump-ons and retros at a high rate of speed. In some clips, he is only unweighted 10% of his body weight which is little more than lifting the metal bar and the chains holding the vest. Unweighted speed training is overspeed training. When unweighted by 30% of body weight, athletes run much faster than they could normally because they do not have to put as much force into the deck so the foot does not have to be on the deck as long. This allows a faster rate of turnover. Once they get to a much higher rate of turnover, we begin to reweight them and they are able to hold much of the gain.
