Bank Transfer Day began as a grassroots movement launched from a laptop by a woman who couldn?t take another bank fee -- but it's growing day by day and it's helping average Americans send the big banks a message by ?un-banking? -- taking their business to smaller banks and credit unions. Dan Rather Reports airs Tuesdays at 8pm ET.

  • This world needs more people like this brave girl. Good work!

  • I'm opening my credit union account tomorrow and starting the process of moving my money. I've been with B of A my entire life and I'm done with them.

  • i love her <3 You rock!

  • Dear Bankers, money printers,

How are we the people (of the world) supposed to pay back the interest on your printed money when only you are allowed to print the money? We have no where to go to get that interest except back to you to borrow it! Your scheme to take over the world is working. WE ARE NOT AMUSED!

  • Chase Bank charges you a $10 per month fee if you don't keep a certain amount in your checking account. Screw them too.

  • well said hunny bunchk

  • What about all the lower echelon people who work for the banks? Not all banks are bad! You really want to make people who are hard working citizens who work in that industry lose their jobs? Who says that if you live in this country that your owed something? Really?

  • @MickyRicardo GOLD and Silver Bullion

  • NOVEMBER 5TH IS BANK TRANSFER DAY! MOVE YOUR MONEY TO A NON-PROFIT CREDIT UNION ON OR BEFORE NOVEMBER 5TH, 2011

  • @MickyRicardo - ask your credit union if they have investment services.

  • I have made this move. Now I would like to move my 401k plan but I don't know where to move it to.

  • I wish I had an account to close.
