Two simultaneously recorded videos of a ceramic hob. Right side: The hob seen in visible light, taken with a Fujifilm F100fd. Left side: Same scenery in the near infrared (850 to maybe 1000nm), recorded with a modified Nikon Coolpix 775. The Nikon Camera doesn't have an IR cut-off filter anymore and was equipped with a no-name filter equivalent to Kodak Wratten 87c.
You see how much brighter the hob appears in infrared compared to the visible light and that it starts and stops glowing, respectively, at much lower temperatures.
I had to insert the cut in the middle of the video due to the restriction that the old Nikon camera cannot record for more than 15 seconds.
