Surprised By Hope Group Bible Study by N.T. Wright. What is the source of Christian hope? Can the hope found in Jesus really transform our lives and the world in which we live? And, how can those who follow Christ bring his light to a hope-starved world?

In this first session of Surprised by Hope, N.T. Wright teaches that God wants his people to experience hope and share it with the world. Hope that has world transforming power is more than just anticipation of what God will do in the future. It is the coming of God's kingdom here on earth...today.

Christians normally think of the future in terms of "heaven", but the promised reality is far greater: a new heaven and a new earth, a whole new creation. Once you grasp this biblical vision of God's future, it will transform your understanding of life in the present.

In six faith-inspiring sessions, premier biblical scholar N.T. Wright opens your eyes to the amazing full scope of what God's Word has to say about the world to come and the world that is.

  • @handselecta He may be shying away a bit regarding a more strict interpretation of the meaning of the so-called 'fall' narrative in Gen. 1-2.

  • An excellent overview of what hope means and how it can be evidenced in our world today. What would the world look like if God were in control? Wright helps to shed light on this very theme in a way that is faithful to the witness of scripture generally, and the life and ministry of Jesus specifically.

  • Why does he say "it's really hard to tell" exactly how creation goes badly wrong? [ 8:30 ]
