Concerto for Marimba, Mvt. I "Scirroco" by Michael Burritt

"Scirroco," meaning 'hot desert wind,' was originally composed for solo marimba, and is orchestrated as the first movement of three movements of Michael Burritt's marimba concerto.

Performed by Andrew Fuhrman on his senior BM degree recital in Kilbourn Hall at the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, NY, on April 14, 2009. With Michael Burritt conducting. Other performers are Heather Mastel-Lipson, George Philips, Jonny Allen, Kathy Crabtree, Beiliang Zhu, and Charlie Pokorny.

  • What mallet selection do you have for this piece? Burritt 13's in all four positions?

  • @scifidrummergeek I think it was an 8 in the bottom and 13s for the other three.
