Our computer programing course combines ideation, digital design, script and coding so that students gain the tools to express their ideas creatively and effectively. Experienced students may start with the second level of each course. Beginner students should start with the first level and may choose to move on to the second level. HTML and Flash are not prerequisites for Game Design; however, students with experience in these programs can apply it here.

Week 1: HTML and Flash I
This is an introduction to HTML and Flash for students with little or no experience with these programs. Students are taught in a well-paced, hands-on environment and quickly develop familiarity and comfort with the programs.

Week 2: HTML and Flash II
The second week builds on the first week of this course, and teaches students more sophisticated programming skills through specific, web-based projects.

Week 3: Game Design I
This week introduces students to the basics of game design. This course teaches students about story, character, events and sequence, action and rules in the digital realm. Students learn the basics of game development and storyboarding.

Week 4: Game Design II
This week will build on week 3, but week 3 is not a prerequisite. More experienced students continue developing their game worlds and stories, and new students dive in learning about the material described above.
