  • I am convinced that Jesus might have stated these same notions. He was against belief in regard to deity, all of which is merely human cognition. Cognition is always based on fabricated premises that bespeak imagination - now higher, now lower level imagination. He promoted direct contact with the power that undergirds reality. Direct contact cannot be synthesized in words, so it is not about some god unless the story is explained in the terms of the Judeo-christian lexicon.

  • can we see you cock please sir.

  • @tetrahydroscope i have already, i don't see how further study in this area will change anything. and since you are indicating you know something i don't, you should educate me as i asked. otherwise how would you know i'd even found the pertinent information.

if you're speaking in a more general sense i am educating myself all the time. i'm currently working on learning japanese and arabic.

  • @satanisthetruegod666 I think if you educate yourself, you will value the knowledge you gain.

  • @tetrahydroscope and again you're ignoring half of what i said. here's the important part AGAIN. "what does any of this have to do with enlightening me on the nature of prayer?"

  • @satanisthetruegod666 Sun God eh? You may just want to hush up so as to not prove my point any further.

  • @tetrahydroscope also "uneducated" again you're presuming things. poorly. I have been a biblical literalist, moderate christian, wiccan, and satanist, all before i became an atheist. I have a full understanding of what prayer is and a dictionary was simply easier to use than a full explanation but in it's simplest form a prayer is an attempt to supernaturally 'tip the scales' in your favor. a spell is the same thing.

  • @tetrahydroscope you presume much. I have studied the first millennium of christianity. In fact i have studied christianity in much more detail than any other. I understand that modern christianity is nothing like ancient christianity. I even understand that some of the earliest christians were essentially just pagans following the newest iteration of the sun god.

what does any of this have to do with enlightening me on the nature of prayer?

  • @satanisthetruegod666Bible-believing Christianity is abominable, so I can see why you make such uneducated comparisons. I think if you try and educate yourself, then you may value what you gain. Start with the first millenia of Christianity.

  • @tetrahydroscope so enlighten me. but keep in mind for the first 10 years of my life (that i can remember) i was a bible believing christian.
