Any A/V editor worth their beans knows that without work, silly projects here and there must be done to keep yourself on your "editing" toes. I very recently realized how easy it is to pull a soundtrack from the 5.1 surround channels of a DVD.

So I replaced the "Batman Begins" chase scene music, "Molossus" by Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard, with the old 1989 "Batman To The Rescue" track by Danny Elfman. It's kind of strange how perfectly it fits...

Enjoy!

  • Thanks for the love; I used Sony Vegas 10. High quality AVI/MP4/etc files that include the surround mix will split the audio into 6 channels for the 5.1 speaker system. If you're lucky, the score won't split onto all 5 channels. I was lucky, so I plucked those channels from the mix, dropped in Elfman's cue, baboom. Obviously there was some tweaking.
