Please also pass a motion calling on the Federal govt to introduce marriage equality - Tasmania recently passed this motion and it would be great to see Qld do the same.

Finally, seriously. Everyone exactly, should, be equal. We're all human beings, people should stop treating other people lower class then them just because of there skin colour, religion, gender, where they're from, job, sex preference, and it goes on. Whatever, why bother when we are all the same. I mean, if you're a lawyer or a waitress, you shouldn't be treated lower class then the other person... you're both the same underneath those uniforms. Same body form, both HUMAN BEINGS.You go Anna :)

Thank you for doing the right thing Premier. It takes courage to stand up against the Tyranny of the Majority to defend minorities whose rights can be numerically trampled over by a whim of populism.

That said, I believe that there is enough popular support in Australia for this move, as evinced by opinion polls on marriage equality showing majority support and this will no doubt be reflected at state level in votes for civil unions.

Thanks for your support Anna :-) By doing this, hopefully it will pave the way to make gay marriage legal. Baby steps but a big move for the bigger picture :-)

@PremierAnnaBligh Yes it was good to see the Qld ALP pass the motion, but the Qld Parliament should do the same, calling on Fed Parliament to introduce same sex marriage. Please pass this on to the Premier.
