JER: Actually, Phil Jones just recently admitted (remember, he was the guy "losing" data at CRU) that the earth may have not warmed since 1995.
Please give us some evidence for an anthropogenic cause pertaining to CO2 levels being 4 times today's levels 300 mln years ago.
Imagine if a presidential candidate got up during a debate and said this is not an ego game. Of course, you're always trying to refute your opponent. You certainly whine a lot.
This is not ego game with me. If you think you've won something I'm glad I'm helping you feel better about yourself. I'm a meteorologist, this isn't a personal crusade for me. We've had a blip of cooling, please offer some science that AGW theory has been falsified. I'm not a climatologist, but I use their NWP products daily, so I can speak out of school as they say..
JER: You've basically agreed with the evidence I've presented in this video and by your own words, you undercut your own argument. If you're wondering about how strong the Sun it, you've realized what a lot of AGW proponents don't, the Sun influences climate a lot more than people realize.
Your comment about the effects of human activity NOW is your poor attempt to sweep away the evidence for massive climate change before the automobile. You're not off to a good start.
JER: By admitting that there were periods that were much hotter undercuts your argument for anthropogenic climate change. You do realize you just refuted yourself?
There's only 25% the amount of CO2 now than there was about 300 mln years ago.
Nobody cares about 650K years ago? Seriously? That's your pitch?
JER: Increased CO2 levels are called, "the greening of planet earth." In addition, somehow the planet continued on when CO2 levels were 4 times today's levels.
In another response to McStupid I went over evidence from Antarctica, severing the link between higher CO2 causing higher temps. The temp was higher in Antarctica 650K years ago, yet CO2 and methane levels were lower.
CO2 isn't the boogeyman your simplistic notions make it out to be.
It was more than just plants and I wouldn't say the rotted, they were subjected to massive amounts of heat and pressure.
I provided a link on the right side to a UC-Davis study showing we had CO2 levels of 2,000 PPM. That pretty much undermines mccainisthrough's entire cut-and-paste video.
I'm not conceding anything because there's nothing to concede. I don't know what the co2 levels were at at one time because i haven't done an atmospheric study of past air quality. I'm told by scientists that at one time co2 levels were high and plants absorbed the co2. then they died and rotted and turned into oil which we now pump out of the ground and put back into the air.

Nobody disputes that warm episodes have occurred thousands of years ago. Do you want to go back to those conditions?
300 Mya continents and forests and deserts and oceans were in a different configuration. How strong was the Sun?
We care about recovery from the effects of human activity NOW and in the coming centuries.

There's plenty of CO2 now, more won't help significantly.
Nobody cares about 650k years ago. Humans weren't blocking any recovery from greenhouse conditions back then. Why are old warming episodes relevant?

You won't care about increased potato growth when the climate gets more unstable. LoL
