Nude Ascending The Atmosphere

She is a nude ascending
the atmosphere,
muscles never tiring
cutting through
the thinning air
like piano wire
on a throat
that's tired of breathing
anyway.

She is a nude ascending
the atmosphere,
she's flying
without fear
through the
bomb streaked air
watching death drop
from the sky
like fireworks,
and blinking
at the impact
as the dust and blood
race to reach
the clouds.

She is a nude ascending
the atmosphere
with hope to burn
her fingers on the sun
to soak her calloused feet
in rain clouds laced
with lightning
and to rest her head
on purple pillows
sewn from cloth
of sunset
stuffed with thunder
and
waiting to
explode.
