@taburineagle - My house has walnut trees in the front yard so it naturally attracts squirrels. This little red squirrel (slightly bigger than a gopher) seems to have claimed my yard in his mind. I closed the hole he was getting in the next day and haven't seen him since. I don't think the duck paid any attention to the squirrel regardless of the noise he was making, but the squirrel didn't like him up on the roof. :)

@jelloofhell - Grooming, not chewing... although kind of excessively.

@stangsaleens7 - That's because they see you as a threat :)

WHY WAS IT CHEWING IT'S TAIL

That famous squirrel sound around this area means theres a cat hiding under the Shrubs near the feeders.

@EastCoastDude99 - Yep - exactly, that's what happened!

I just had a little red squirrel going crazy in front of my house. It was living in the roof but I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. Turns out a duck was sitting on the roof and he was mad that he couldn't get up there to get in.

@slowbubblecar - Hehe... squirrels usually call out when there's big danger like a cat or some other predator in the area that might come after them - it's funny to think of a duck trying to eat a squirrel! :)

It is just singing a song for you. :)
The tail grooming could be similar to humans who keep brushing their hand through their hair while freaking out.

@sparkloweb - That's possible, over-grooming to calm itself down...
