  • You dont need to do all this, because its easier use a recent KDE 4 Distro. all these things are already built in.and on by default. easy. Gnome is laggind behind i'm afraid.Also in my experience KDE effects are quicker too as you're not *adding* an extra layer on your x server.

    Suggest Linux Mint KDE or Kubuntu Lucid Lynx or PCLinuxOS or and recent distro you like the sound of that is KDE. you dont have to install anything extra.
