This looks as though it were soooo long ago. It couldn't possibly have been! I saw 4472 in New York City at Penn Station with my Dad in.... O.M.G. 1969 and again in San Fransisco in 1971. Been a British steam enthusiast ever since. Even supplied the NRM with color photos of LMS 6229 taken in 1939 and 1940. I understand that was actually a contributing factor in the acquisition of the funding for re-streamlining the Duchess of Hamilton.

@TheMythfox They should visit Japan. Imagine the Flying Scotsman pulling a train from Hakata to Nagasaki via Sasebo. Of course, it would not be feasible, that being said, as Japanese trackage is narrower than US/UK trakage.
I would still like to see another North American tour, too.
