  • I was talking to guys at Turners in Pasadena and their response was, "I'll jump through hoops for the government to get a gun".

What idiots. There will be a day when there are no more hoops.

  • Not surprising since Turners is a chain store. It looks like AB1471 may never go into effect though, as the bill states that the microstamping technology has to be patent free and available from more than one company. Currently the technology is only available from one company, and they hold the patents on it. And they want to make money on their patent.

  • Well it would appear that he has signed this bill into law. God help us...

  • Yeah, was just reading that on CalGuns. Tis a sad day for Kalifornians :/

  • if i was a criminal, i would just fill in or file off the stamp. this is just another stupid liberal idea.

  • All I'd have to do is remove the stamper from the gun, rob my bullets, and run. SOOO hard.

  • Revolvers and brass catchers. I have no guns never have never will.

  • Duh, I would just use a revolver and no brass left at the scene. Another dumb law indeed.

  • Kennedy is dead thank God

  • Heres what you do, its simple.

Take a piece of medium sandpaper to your firing pin. DONE! No more micro stamping! :)

If they pass that law in US. The sandpaper trick will be applied to all of my future firearm purchases.

  • What is deplorable about the passing of this particular law is that the good, law abiding people may have to take certain actions from a gunsmithing perspective to ensure that after a day at the range they aren't wrongly incarcerated for something they didn't do.

  • Here in NY, our microstamp bill (S4397A) has passed assembly. However, due to the current state of our senate, it has'nt been acted upon by that body so there's still time to flush it down the friggin' toilet where it belongs. All NY'ers, get on your senator's case and tell them NO on S4397A. I have.

  • wouldnt this destroy the brass for reloaders?

  • 1) Here's a different, simpler, and possibly more plausible scenario: criminal steals a law abiding gun owner's gun and commits a crime with it. This is how most guns used in crimes are obtained anyways.

    2) How would a $500 tax on each bullet help? Bullets would just get stolen more often.
