Final one i promise . Just to show it flying outside. No wind (about 3-4 km/hr zephyrs) not nice to fly, the whole time you have to watch it - roll affects yaw....breezes affect everything and tree branches leap out and grab it..... what have we learnt ? if i have 2 motors, 2 servos and a for sale sign i can build a flying machine... next machine will be redesign, with control vanes below CG........and finaly i apologise for taking 3 minutes of your life, but hey, you were only watching ads on tv anyways :)
Surprised to see this, it's not far off principle of Martin jet pack really, no reason why it can't go to near horizontal flight at speed and be more efficient than normal tri, quad, hex copters etc, right?

@obooth in principle yes, but not this exact configuration, the control vanes are too close to the cog, they need to be moved a fair way below to have decent authority - stay tuned for mk2

Why not classic bicopter like gunship from avatar?

@SovGVD because this was a simple test using vanes to control the thrust. An avatar Gunship would require that each motor was on a tilt mount - too much work for a lazy Sunday :-)

It uses a multirotor flight controller, which has 3 gyros and 3 accelerometers, plus a custom mix to control it. It would be impossible to fly this thing manually. The flight controller in this case is an openpilot copter control
