  • Guinsaugon did not have a high school so the students went to Tambis I, across the river. While in school, they say they heard a loud rumble, like thunder and when they went outside, the whole village was gone. All their families buried alive. Very few survived. To add to the sadness, the whole village was evacuated until just the day before. Just when most people got back and thought it was safe is when the landslide happened.

  • I would really like to see something good can come from this disaster! All these people died for no reason they died for nothing. I lost my grandfather, aunt and uncle in this tragedy. My goal would be to go out there and rebuild a school nearby to replace the one that was once there.

  • Thankyou for uploading this. Youtube serves as a great medium for ensuring such tragedies as the Leyte Landslide are not forgotten.

  • I will visit the area on my next vacation.

  • Wonderful job Ry. I want to see more.

  • Incredible to think that the area would have been a hive of activity such a short time ago. Very interesting.

  • Very nice video, I am very touched. It is so sad indeed.
