Woman Dies on Kings County Hospital Floor

June 30, 2008: -- Brooklyn, NY -- A 49 year-old woman died on the psychiatric emergency room floor at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. The woman was on the floor for almost an hour before hospital staff tended to her. The cause of her death is unknown.

Yet you still have by far the largest ratio of deaths from preventable illness in the developed world. That is something your country should be ashamed of.

Even if you have got some of the best hospitals in the world (so what?) that doesn't change the fact that your health service is the world's most expensive yet is ranked 37th in world for over all quality of care, Considering the misguided pride many of you have in your health service that's a pretty bad show isn't it?

Oh, and rather than making racist comments, why not improve the lives of these "ghetto orderlies" and the facilities at these "ghetto hospitals"? Sorry, that would cost money...

lol, don't blame ghetto orderlies in a ghetto hospital on me or the US. We have the best medical schools and best hospitals in the world. That's why illegal dregs from all over the world flock here. Even illegals get treated for free. Problem is we can't afford to give every junkie, whino, psycho and illegal world class healthcare. If you don't like it, go to Cuba or somewhere where healthcare is "free".

Can't speak for the USA but on the whole you'll find that hospitals in civilized countries such as France, Britain, Germany, Malta, Ireland, Italy, Cyprus, Spain, Australia, Austria, Japan, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Monaco, Greece, Iceland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Belgium, Monaco, etc, all tend to employ human beings who actually care about the patients.

Maybe it says something about the culture in the country you live in that the other people in the room failed to alert the staff?

You have half as many Doctors per person in your population (2.4 per 1000 as opposed to between 3.5 and 4.9 in every EU country, except Belgium), which leads to delays in people getting the right treatment that leads to the USA having the highest rate of deaths by preventable illness in the "developed world"
