The charter fishing boat "Escape" docks in Penarth Marina on Sunday January 30 2011.
The Marina's swans always assume they have the right of way over all boats. Only one swan reluctantly moves out of the way to allow Escape to thread her way between them. The other swan doesn't move - correctly applying the rule of navigation that it is the duty of the overtaking vessel to keep clear
There's no wind to complicate coming alongside - but the clients don't exactly help by all moving to the port side.Nevertheless with a quick burst of stern power the skipper slides into the berth with no problem. The swans then close in to collect any unwanted fish which might be discarded.
The boat is 33 foot Aquastar with a single 300hp turbo-diesel engine.
The swans are powered by twin webbed-feet
