Populous: The Beginning - 01 : The Journey Begins 1/1

Part 1/1 of world 01 : The Journey Begins in my Populous: The Beginning walkthrough.

Before playing this, I recommend you complete the tutorial as it will teach you the basics of building, spells and units.

Start by worshipping the Stone Head to obtain 2 Landbridge spells. Whilst waiting, build 2 more Huts with your Braves, you'll see already how they can be annoying as the original Harvesters in C&C. They sometimes don't auto build when a plan is down, but some times will. Sometimes they also stop mid flattening of the land. In terms of where you can place buildings, near your reincarnation site, near other buildings or later when you get a Guard Tower, they can be used as expansion buildings later (you see them in the tutorial). Once you have the landbridge spells, use it to form a bridge of land to the closest island. On there, kill the Dakini Brave and grab the Warrior Hut plan. Warriors are very useful as the all round soldier, they will generally be the bulk of your attacking units. They can take out about 5-6 Braves before eventually succumbing to them, and can also win against a Shaman (provided she doesn't use spells). Keep them away from Priests and with Firewarriors just rush them. Once you've grabbed the plan, you can use Warriors to finish the Dakini off if you want, but first grab the 4 lightning spells from the Stone Head and landbridge to the Dakini's island. The lightning spells should finish it, if not blast. They have no reincarnation site, and it's very rare that the Shaman even bothers to use Blast.

If you're not bothered about grabbing stuff, just get two Landbridge spells, and blast them to death, will take less than 2 minutes.

man there is so much nostalgia in this video. i remember playing this as a kid. always got stuck on one part though could never pass it as a kid. wish i could get this game again it was so fun

theres 2 versions of this game then? I have the playstation one and the graphics area alot higher on it, although to be honest I prefer these instead. Also the tips are actually spoken with a voice actor (which is annoying as hell). This looks to be the better version overall!

This game is the shit. I used to play it on my mom's old pc with a really shitty monitor that was too dark to be able to see what was going on during the night missions. It was still a lot of fun though.

always used cheats for it, kept spamming angel of death xD

cheats couldn't get me past the mission where my shaman was inactive in a prison :(
