Nikon has released the D3100, which is an update to their entry-level DSLR range (the predecessors being the D3000 and the D5000). One of the big changes to this camera is that it now has 1080p video mode and AF-F, continuous autofocus during movie mode. So, what is the Nikon D3100 like? Is it worthy competition to the Canon 550D?

You quite certainly can't adjust the ISO settings for videos.

Might be possible to adjust the brightness and the aperture, at least that's possible with the D5100.

Just look in your manual, I'm sure you can find those informations in it.

  • I have this camera and have had it for 8 months! I need help; Whenever I go to shoot video, I can't seem to adjust the settings. If I go to manual and flick between the iso settings, the final camera output looks exactly the same! Please help !

  • I dont understand how you can handhold at 1/30th of a second and have no hand shake?! o.o

  • I cringe every time I see him just casually looking over a few stories high with the camera just dangling like its cool....

  • @Jasupi911 dont worry just wait till he drops it!

  • was it just a coincidence when the ad before this video is of a canon powershot?....

  • i got this for christmas and i cried because i was so happy..

  • Just got this camera, i love it but i have one question!!! What shutter speeds and aperture and ISO is good for a fisheye lens with this camera?

    Thanks!

  • soo I am getting this tomorrow night and I can't wait very excited :D

  • @Jaspazz2 There is a lever around the red dot by the navigation pad. Pull it down, and then push the red button. hope that helped.
