Yeah it's purely the computer's fault for this delay you're experiencing. It's actually called "Latency" and depending on your computers sound card, you'll experience different delay in milliseconds. The only way to eliminate it to lower than 11 milliseconds (our ears can't hear any difference beyond this point) is either download and install the latest ASIO drivers (you can google this) or buy a new sound card, though it would have to be one meant specifically for audio recording.

yea, I use the blue snowball to record my videos, I have a mac and use garageband on a Mac. I usually upload the garageband file into iTunes and from there into iMovie. I find i get a lot better quality sound that way as opposed to just recording in iMovie. I don't think iMovie knows how to take advantage of the full potential of this mike.

Mine works fine with Vista. I think it has something to do with when they were made. If they were made before '07, then I think they're not compatible. The serial # has to be above 65000, or something of that sort.

its nice to listen to. there is still room fpr improvements...a bit more of inner conviction which transcends the vocals and it would gain a lot. It's not easy. Be confident in yourself and in your powers, don't try to sing "nice". Sing yourself and your feelings which you have in mind singing the lyrics...
what capo is that ?
TheStunningThing 1 year ago
If you mean what fret, it's on the 2nd one, BUT it's also tuned down a whole step, so it'a actually EADGBE. Neil plays it in normal tune with the capo on the second fret, so it's F#BEAC#F#. I believe.
If you mean what kind of capo, it's the regular type of clamp-on. I have to angle it to keep it out of the way of my fingers

what do you have your stand hanging on to to keep it sideways like that?

It's on a regular mic stand. The Snowball has a standard threaded hole to fit onto any standard mic stand.
That's a lot of "stands"

I haven't had the SnowBall for a few years, but it worked well enough for this. What I didn't like was the delay when trying to overdub a second track, or even monitoring while recording the first track. But that's mostly the computer's doing, from what I've been told. No expert here.
