When we think of self righteousness there are 2 words that are expressed.
1) Self
2) Righteousness

Self righteousness means you proclaim yourself to be righteous or that you are righteous without help.

Christians claim that you need Jesus Christ to be righteous others claim that you don't need Jesus. That you can be righteous outside of God or Christ. So who truly are the self-proclaimed righteous people. Christians? Atheists? Muslims? Agnostics?

It diffenetly is not Christians. They know they need Christ.

Your definitions for "righteous" and "self righteous" is flawed. I don't believe in your doctrine so why would I believe in your doctrinally defined definition for "righteousness" and "self righteousness". So long as people have pride, they are in some extent guilty of self righteousness. WE ARE ALL GUILTY.

Isn't it self explanatory? The self-righteous are those who are walking in sin, but are declaring themselves to be walking in righteousness, OR those who are unrighteous before God but declaring themselves to be justified in His eyes. Either is self-righteousness.

Black/White. You are color blind. We do need people and we do need something bigger to believe in. It just happens to be that a lot of people see in color. Most people you call out as being self-righteous believe in the world as the great being. It is the greater whole. Seeing, understanding, and experiencing is what I consider Godliness.
