Windrider RAVE Hydrofoil Fast Sailing

This is a video of myself and my friend Harry sailing in Sebago Lake, Maine. Filmed by myself while trying not to crash - it displays the incredible capabilities of this fine hydrofoiling sailboat...

Enographer you aren't going to be beating your chest in a hurry are you considering your sailing a 12' windsurfer with sides on it. Does the remote control take many batteries?

Well that sounds nice! Then you are upside down, held firmly in your seat.

It's exhilarating feeling harnessing the power of the wind! Great video. I saw this video in church during a sermon on the Holy Spirit. The Spirit in Greek is pneuma, meaning wind or breath of God. In your faith, you can either ROW HARD (work in your own strength) or SAIL ON THE WIND OF THE SPIRIT (trusting in the Lord for everything you need). Great video!

Nice video.

How many Raves were built?

Not many - my understanding is under 100.

The RAVE looks like a lot of fun. It is nice to see a high performance wind-powered machine.

Great video, but the music track is dreadful.

Guy brought one to our lake several times last yr. I sail MXRay, and some thinkits too tedious to rig, but it always took him over an hour. Broadreaching, outran him sevrl times,. I shouldn't have been able to even keep up, , but he constantly had problems with one area or another not planing up properly.
I concluded you need a lot of experience with planing (he didn't) to get most out of that boat. Its way differnt than displacement sailing.

You'd never beat me broadreaching in any displacement sailboat. :) Sure - like any boat, they need some experience to handle properly. Once you do.....

"You'd never beat me broadreaching in any displacement sailboat"
i would hope so. Otherwsise it would mean your sailing was pathetic.
I said it was an MXRay . I was planing, not displacement sailing.
I also said I shouldn't have been able to outrun him.
But go ahead and thump your chest, if it makes you feel like a big man.
