  • I'll do that tomorrow when I come back from my snowshoe hike.

  • PN 40 pc of junk.

Fails at low and high temp enviros.

    Fails at battery life.

    Fails at updating.

Makes a nice paper weight or a toy to play with in home at 72F and no movement.

  • Sorry you had a bad experience.

I've used the PN-40 successfully in temps as low as 15 Deg F and upwards toward 100 Deg F. Others have used in more extreme levels. Battery life is notably short when using Alkalines but Lithiums will provide a full day of usage. I'd recommend using rechargeables to stay green. The PN has never failed at updating its position with me even when in narrow horizon situations.

  • Next video to make is how to prepare the imagery for the PN. This seems to be the next most confusing issue. Hope to have it done this weekend.

  • Thank you! I'll try to get another video out this weekend. I'm prepping for a camping trip at the end of the month so I'll take advantage of that activity and video it.

  • PLEASE make a video on how to offload a track from a pn-60w

  • I downloaded an aerial from the web site, unzipped it and it shows up in Topo 8 but not in the exchange window?

  • Thanks much for your video! I am trying to figure out this Delorme PN-40 I just got!!! Your video helped! Looking for more.

  • Thanks for sharing...keep 'em coming!

  • Excellent... I'm just beginning to use Topo8 with a PN-40. I'm also running it with VMware on a MacBook so the unfamiliar interface on Topo8 increases the learning curve. This very clear tutortial is just what I need to get started. I'd really like to see an extension of this, however, to demo adding routes, waypoints, etc. to your maps. Give us more!
