Upgrading RAM on the Mini 1000 is extremely easy and fast. No screws or screwdriver required to go from 1GB to 2GB. It took me just 19 seconds to perform the upgrade from start to finish.

  • do u need to change anything else like nothing on the motherboard

  • Nope, all you need to do is swap the memory and you're set to go.

  • where do you buy it from and what benifits does this have? thx

  • main benefits are low cost (starts at under $300) and portability (fits in my fleece's pocket), which means I can ditch my bag for quick meetings.

  • You can swap out the hard drive, but it requires more effort of course. Also the hard drive is a 1.8-inch pata hard drive, so most standard notebook drives will not fit- those are 2.5-inchers.

  • Damn. Now it costs around 40 to 50 dollars to upgrade. Damn you supply and demand!

  • The AUS version has screws on the cover and it still needs to be "popped" off. Still very quick and easy. All I can say is, WOW, what a difference in performance. Highly recommended.
