  • because its a skyhooks song sung by shirley strahan who piloted the helicoptor and died in the crash. why would you insult someone who has posted a tribute? this songs a 70's anthem.

  • Odd thing: I'm a Yank, who'd never heard of the Skyhooks, till I married the woman who lived JUST below the mountain, at 61 Westvale Road. She said she could see the smoke from the crash, and she was really distraught, having loved the band. Weird, how these things have connections, eh?

  • is the helicopter still there these days?

  • Oh dear Shirl. You are still so missed. Every time I go to Philip Island, when I cross the bridge, you're in my heart always xxxxxxxx

  • @exCroweater Yes, I agree. I have never really understood why some people would want to look at this or other things like Princess Diana's accident shots. Each to their own I suppose.

  • It will be ten years ago this year - you are remembered

  • @desikitteh not sure if there really is a thing like closure on anything, maybe it is more about accepting

  • So very sadly missed... never ever got to meet him ....but gee I wish I had ..just that once... miss you Shirley R.I.P. I will never forget you

  • I grew up with Skyhooks and Shirl's neighbourhood after school, never knew him but he lit up my life and still does when I listen to his music. Very sad. Just like Lady Di and Brian Naylor. RIP mate.
