Rose Room - Warren Earle 1961.
This is one of the nicer Rose Rooms I had in my collection. Funny though, I must have this film for more than 15 years on my video shelves. Just today I noticed these 2 films of Buck Clayton's All Stars from 1961 taped somewhere in Belgium. Always feels so good to hear these fantastic performances by the masters of early jazz and swing. A feature away from Buck's full session group showcases Earle Warren, this time on clarinet with Emmett Berry on muted trumpet. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did to hear and see it again after quite a few years .
The wonderful rhythm group is with Sir Charles Thompson on piano, great old fashioned slap style at times from Gene Ramey on bass and exciting drumwork by Oliver Jackson
Emmett Berry - One of the forgotten jazz trumpeters. He, Joe Thomas and others deserve more recognition ... and thanks for the upload!

So sweet & tasty style. Thank you for this post! I'm looking to arrange this tune for my band leader (9 piece dixie group) and R.Room is one of his favorites. This post is a great model for me to get the feel for this tune, as I've only toyed with it before(on piano) and have no recordings. Thanks!
