To you it might have felt like 10-12 m/s but I can bet that it wasn't more than 6. By the way the wing is behaving it was about 5m/s in my opinion. A 10m/s wind would have dragged you if you launched the way you did.

10-12m/s??? How you calculate that speed? This glider cannot fly with 40kmh front wind

in strong winds its maybe safer to launch downwind from the road rather than upwind
