@tudorino66 ....yeah, they are light, nimble, awesome off road, cheap n simple to maintain......until it comes to pulling something heavy out of a hole, then towing a 2 tonne caravan home from every event, and pulling a 3.5 tonne trailer, and seating 5 adults in comfort, and being used as a HGV towtruck, and carrying emergency Doctors/midwifes/district nurses to calls in bad weather....etc.etc.etc.... I think I will stick with what I've got, a Suzuki wouldn't be much use to me I'm afraid

@USN1985dos Buy a disco one. If you're going to off road that is. And if you do not fix your car yourself, a Land Rover will rape your wallet.

Hey, I'm looking at buying a 2003-2005 LR Discovery, but I was wondering about the reliability issues, if they have any. My brother-in-law had one and it was always having trouble with these like overheating. Was that just a fluke vehicle, or is it common for these things?

Can anyone tell me if the new LR3's are as good as the older discos? And if so why??? Thanks!!!

@flyingrv6
The LR3's are a completely different vehicle to the older Disco's, they rely heavily on traction control, Hill
Descent Control and Terrain Response electronics, which makes them extremely capable off road without aggressive tyres....
To say LR3's are better or worse is a matter of opinion, and your intended use for the vehicle. I run an old one because theyre cheap and easy to work on/customise at home, and no electronic wizardry to go wrong!!
