Retired gen. Sheehan blames Dutch gay soldiers for Srebrenica

Dutch officials are outraged with a former NATO commander's claims that gay peacekeepers are partially to blame for the Srebrenica massacre in 1995. Retired U.S. general John Sheehan said the Dutch contingent tasked to defend the town of Srebrenica during the Bosnian was weakened because it included ... openly gay soldiers. And that according to Sheehan is why they failed to stop the Serb forces from killing thousands of local Muslims. Ironically the statement was made at a Senate hearing on a proposal to allow gays to serve openly in the US military.

Fools! Second guessing shit from an armchair. Even though it would have been a glorious massacre if he had led his troops armed with uzis to advance on Mladic's tankbattalions, it would have made little difference for the 7000 or so muslims who got culled in the aftermath. Even so, be it cowardice or strategic insight, withdrawing the Dutch-bat troops was the only logical course of action.

This makes me hate how the world we live in actually is. you see, the Dutch weren`t the cowards, some of you guys are! sure, blame the dutch for the massacre. WTF are you thinking? they weren`t the only ones there! when the dutch saw the serbs arriving, they ask for air support from other troops multiple times, but none were given. the dutch were in a minority and had to retreat...
