Renowned botanist Angus Gholson Jr. of Chattahoochee was honored by The Nature Conservancy as the namesake of a new environmental center on the Conservancy's Apalachicola Bluffs and Ravines Preserve in Bristol, Florida. At a ceremony attended by people from throughout the region - including botanists, county officials, congressional staff and the Conservancy's board of trustees - the Angus Gholson Jr. Environmental Learning Center was dedicated.
