This is a good story, great video and looks like an awsome hunt, i am alittle unsure of the dicription of these birds, ive heard of twenty pound birds but a wing span of eight feet sounds a little unbelieveable. I hunt about fifty miles north of rochester and i have yet to see one.

how are you concealed? that could be the reason. You can kill birds with dozens of decoys, a few dozen, 1 dozen, 6 decoys, 2 decoys and even 1 decoy. You just have to make sure they cant see you AT ALL. If your in a layout blind, dig it down and make it so its hard for you to even find your blind. Thats the key. Also you need some good calling and movement such as a flag

I hunt in Nebraska. How many decoys did you use and wht type of setup. I have tried everything and cant' seem to find a sweet set-up. We shoot a lot of birds but outside that 30-40 yard range...can't get them to commit any closer.

Assuming you are hunting Canada Geese, I would recommend that you use 200 or more decoys. Of those 200+, have as many of them be as full-bodied as possible. If late in the season set up family groups of 5-7 Obviously calling and blinds are very important. Also, flagging can attract the birds from a distance. Good luck
