the sound of this voice in my head way before I heard it.
Researching further, I found Venezuela, which was highly meaningful to me, since I'm Venezuelan, and it's a damn rare thing to see a man from Kentucky writing a song with my country's name on the late 10s. To this day it remains my favorite JJN song. I have a great deal of respect for your father's music. You made me even sign up for a username just to reply. Thanks for taking time to comment on this cover,
Here we go again. My father has been dead for 20 years. There is no way that Mr. Gutierrez could have heard my father in person. His recordings until recently have been out of print. And yet when he sings this song, he sound like my father. For proof, get the EmpireRecordwerk re-release of the Tradition Label recordings that the Clancey Brothers producted in 1956 and 1957. In the upper register, he sounds like my father.
