In Division 2 of the Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Football Alliance leaders Northern Care Colts FC were at home to second placed Real Burlington FC. Gale force winds and driving rain made for some challenging conditions for players and spectators alike. The wind was coming in straight off the sea making it almost impossible for the keeper to clear his own area with goal kicks. Unsurprisingly, it was a game of two halves. With the gale on their backs the Colts raced into a 3-0 lead at the interval but in the second half the Burlies made best use of the wind to pull it back to 3-3. Honours even with a point apiece. This video shows the last couple of minutes of the match and helps highlight how tough the conditions can sometimes be on the famous windswept fields of Commonedge Road, Blackpool. You can't even hear the players due to the wind and rain hitting the camera. Glad to get back inside for a hot cuppa.
